U.V.G., or Uncanny Valley Girl is the moniker I took up after recognizing my own lived neurodivergent experience in roboticist, Dr. Mori's description of Bukiminotani (不気味の谷), the Uncanny Valley.
In the 70s, Japanese roboticist, Dr. Masahiro Mori, made the observation that the affinity people feel for humanoid robots is suddenly lost if the simulation is too close. Dr. Mori described this as a free fall into what he coined as the Uncanny Valley. Dr. Mori could not have described my lived experience as autistic any better. Radical acceptance of difference means a world that includes uncanny valley girls, boys, and all the rest, along with everyone who has had to live with discrimination
Spectrum Confessions presents a new narrative about artificial intelligence, neurovariance, autism, and human consciousness. The purpose is to entertain and not to make scientific claims, but to shed light on the treatment and marginalization of a large segment of the population.
New York Times bestselling author of Neurotribes, Steve Silberman, reveals the fraudulence behind the false claim that there is any connection between autism and vaccines.
