Default strategy: beautify and make it tasty
Everyone faces caring for a parent who is not well but no one tells you how and what to do. My mother stopped wanting any food about a month after radiation treatments for tumors in her brain. Already she has lost all the weight she can. As it is she cannot walk, speak, or do much without great strain. But she she keeps going so obviously needs enough nourishment to keep up with herself. So at every turn I was trying to find healthy, organic or at least not overly processed and sugar-free treats that at least in low volume sustains. Plus she spends a lot of time in a few spots in the house so I made a gorgeous seating area outside where she can enjoy coffee alone or visits from others.
I honestly do not know how best to handle all this. She has a great attitude and is always happy and laughing so all I can think to do is make everything lovely around her and tasty treats to eat or drink.

I hope not to squander this life on anything less than love. And what do I mean by love? Think fierce love. Love that cuts to the core, that burns away all nonsense in an instant to get at what is most human. M+
